- I'm also using my Commodore 1702 as an S-VHS monitor. I converted an S-VHS
- cable to have (2) RCA connectors on the other end (Chroma & Luma) and plugged
- it into the rear of my 1702. The picture is excellent!
- To test the differences between S-VHS and standard NTSC quality I also plugged
- in a composite input into the front of the monitor. Then I switched the
- display from "front" to "back" to see the difference in video quality.
- There was a very noticeable difference, the seperated Chroma/Luma image was
- significantly sharper and crisper than the composite display.
-
- Before I attempted this project I asked this guy at Radio Shack if it would
- damage my monitor. He said, "Don't bother...your VCR and monitor have
- different syncs...it will never work." So, :) I went ahead and tried it
- anyway and it worked fine.
